The “ELVES UP NORTH” is an interactive Christmas book which allows the reader to “adapt” the story line to create different experiences each time. It can be read as a chapter bedtime story or out loud to groups.
The viewpoint is “you”, as you are asked to answer yes or no, complete small or big tasks.
A wizard, named ‘the Maestro’ asks for your help to find out why Castor the Elf is sad this season. If you agree, he will whisk you ‘Up North’. There, you meet Misty the Mouse and the Elves of Table 12. With Multicultural and characters with special needs, as one reviewer quoted, "It's the first time Santa's workshop shows the "real" world!" More than that, it is a story of friendship, of how important it is for every one to feel like they belong and of how sometimes, the closest friends can even become family.
It's up to you, Misty the mouse, the Elves of Table 12 and of course Santa, to save the day!
The reader can choose to complete the story by reading the sections in black print, or can veer away by reading ideas in red to have more fun. Each chapter can be read in about 15-minutes and every one ends on a happy note to promote sweet dreams if stopping there for the night. It also includes an appropriate Christmas song you can sing to keep the magic going if stopping there for the night and questions that can be asked to continue the fun.
Ex: What would you do if you could fly through the clouds? Do you want Liver Soup and Fish Biscuits for dinner tomorrow night? (That’s what Elves eat. EWWW!!!)
